Criblock

Why Criblock™?

•  Criblock™ is a reinforced concrete retaining wall system.  It is a gravity type wall that uses the mass of the concrete & materials, compacted within the cells, for structural stability.

•  Criblock™ is not dependent on tie-back or grid systems for wall stabilization. This greatly minimizes excavation and backfilling required by other retaining wall systems.

• The pieces of the Criblock™ system articulate together to be solid; yet the wall withstands seismic acceleration and differential settlement significantly better than traditional wall systems.

•  Criblock™ allows water to escape through the open grid pattern of the wall structure.  Conventional modular block systems hold back water, increasing hydrostatic pressure behind the wall. This hydrostatic pressure is one of the main reasons a retaining wall will fail. Criblock™ walls have no hydrostatic pressure, because the partially open face of the wall does not obstruct water from flowing naturally.

•  The open cells of the Criblock™ wall are easily planted and maintained; creating a living canvas of foliage and plants.

•  The grid design of a Criblock™ wall leaves minimal concrete exposed, resulting in a lesser visual impact than a solid block wall.

•  Criblock™ is approved by the Army Corps of Engineers, Caltrans, and British Columbia Ministry of Transportation, among others.  Government agencies depend on Criblock™ because of its longevity and versatility across varied terrains and in all climates.
